I
hope this
greets you all with a winter well served, and all those many kites
made and stored up for the spring, summer and fall to fly them. Were
like the chipmunks of kiting. I am looking forward to flying my
Brian Champie's Sentinel kite again at the next Kite Fly. Maybe it
will be in Canada, or at the park next week end. I don't know. It
flew well at the Fort Sunday afternoon as you were all leaving. But
for sure it will be soon. I still have a few kites on the drawing
board too. I am not sure when they will come to pass yet.
I have heard in the wind, that a few new venues to fly your kites
at, may be coming up soon. I hope that if you want to fly your
kites, and you want to fly them with other people, all you have to
do is bring it up to me or anyone on the board, and they will be
happy, no, make that giddy to put it on the calendar! We are putting
them all on the calendar. No matter if you live in Seattle,
Yakima or Humptulips. (Yes, there is really a town named Humptulips!)
Remember it is Kite Month coming up in April and we want all of the
Kiting events to be registered with the AKA too. Even if it is just
you and your neighbor, lets get them on the WKA calendar. To borrow
a phrase, "Where there is two or more" kites in the air, It is a
Kite Fly! Send the location to me at
Webmaster @ WKA-kiteflyers.org. I will be sure it gets on the
calendar. Give me a couple of week too. Not just 2 days. No one will
see it unless it is there a couple of weeks.
There are lots of regular events coming up soon, and I will be at
some of them. I can't make it to all of them, but you will, and then
you will send me the pictures of it. Right!
See you all where the wind is,
President White
